Donate Now to the Streetcar #160 Restoration Project

Yakima Valley Trolleys preserves and maintains the last remaining interurban electric railroad in the United States. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. We have obtained a very rare Brill trolley car that is of the type that first ran in Yakima in 1908. Where once there were thousands of this type of car, there are only five examples remaining in the country today.

The trolley car needs to be restored and we have arranged with the professional restoration shop at the Northwest Railway Museum to have it completely restored to like-new condition to run on our historic railroad. The cost of the restoration is $300,000. We have already raised $164,500 of that amount through grants and donations. The first photo above shows the car now, and the second photo shows what the car will look like when fully restored to the appearance of a YVT single-truck car.
